The release of the 2025 Silver Eagle bar marks the 39th anniversary of the series.

The popular and now iconic American Eagle silver bar was introduced in 1986 and is the collector's version of the official American Eagle silver bar from the United States Mint. The classic "Walking Liberty" obverse (head) has always been a favorite among collectors. Thanks to advances in design and minting, it now includes some original details that Weinman did not mention before 2021.

A new reverse (tail) design is also being introduced in 2021. To improve the security of the new silver coins, they have also been updated with enhanced security features, including a change to fluted edges.

The obverse features a refreshed depiction full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to render a closer reflection of Weinman’s original vision that includes the addition of his traditional artist mark. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2025.”

The new reverse design features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."
